Edmonton artist Steve Scherer uses his gas torch to create intricate animals, figures and birds from glass. During his demonstration, Scherer often shows artisan center staff how to work the glass, as they make small animals under his supervision. The exciting process of flame and glass mesmerizes visitors. Scherer will take part in a new exhibit to celebrate the Kentucky Artisan Center's 15th Anniversary in 2018. WICKLIFFE, KY (Tues 17 Apr 2018) - Learn about snakes and other reptiles with the "World of Reptiles" show planned at Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site, on the Great River Road National Scenic Byway, at 94 Green Street (Highway 51-60-62) Wickliffe, KY, on Saturday, 28 Apr 2018. This interactive program, presented at 1 p.m. by award-winning naturalist Scott Shupe, features live snakes and other reptiles. There will also be a Woods Walk Trail and a Butterfly Program in the Welcome Center from 9am-4pmCT, where kids can make and take a butterfly mobile and pick up free flower see packets for butterfly gardens. Admission for the reptile program is $3 adults/$2 kids. The reptile program with museum and site tour is $5 adults/$4 kids, seniors and military and includes the butterfly program. Call ahead for discount rates on groups of 10 or more. This is a great opportunity for Scout troops, homeschoolers or youth groups.
