Hungry Kids Cafe sign going up, ready for Saturday
 2018-04-19 - FM2/Hungry Kids Cafe, corner Merchant and Campbellsville Streets, Columbia, KY - Photo by Mitzi Bault. Ricky Bault puts the new Hungry Kids Cafe sign on the little building that is headquarters for free meals for children and students of all ages Saturdays at FM2. The sign was created, painted and donated by Billy and Patsy Parsons. Lois Cunningham has led the community volunteer and fundraising effort to get the building and food to continue the work started at the 2017 Farmers Market. Adults are welcome for a donation, however. Children eat for free. - Linda Waggener

KY Afield Outdoors: Deciphering spring white bass runs
 2018-04-19 - Spencer Co., KY - Photo by Lee McClellan. In-line spinners fool white bass during their spawning runs, like this silver one did a few years ago in the headwaters of Taylorsville Lake. The up and down temperatures this spring stunted the white bass runs, but they should be make their heavy spawning moves into the headwaters of reservoirs soon with the arrival of sustained warm weather.
