The cast of the stars of the Thursday, April 19, 2018 board of education meeting earned a State Championship with their production of "Bus Safety for Everyone," A multi media program including a student produced video. Edmonton is 200! Metcalfe County not quite as old!

The question has been asked how Edmonton could be celebrating their 200th anniversary when it has not been fifty years since the entire community celebrated the sesquicentennial in 2010. According to "Metcalfe County, Our History in Pictures" published by the Metcalfe County Historical Society, Metcalfe County was recognized as a county May 1, in 1860 from a large portion of land then known as Barren County. Fifteen mule and horse teams turned some soil Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Homeplace on Green River festival. They were watched by a record crowd of about 2500 folks from Indiana, Tennessee and of course from throughout Kentucky. Tractor-bearing Garrison Construction semi a reminder of founder

"The tractor showing was in memory of the late Lewis Garrison, owner of Garrison Construction and avid antique tractor collector," George Kolbenschag writes. The big semi is now a familiar sight in parades and elicits memories of the impresario who built his tractor show into a major event at Clay Ridge, Adair County, KY.

Tractors return to Plow Day 21 Apr 2018

Thanks to the work of Wayne Livesay and Eddie Cowherd, with help from the family of the late Lewis Garrison, the tractor show was revived for Plow Day 2018 - believed to have drawn the largest attendance of any event, ever, at Homeplace on Green River.
