Friday morning, April 27, Linda talked with third district Magistrate who told her that the strainer had been removed earlier, and wondered if Wendy Burt's photo might not have helped get quick action. Some of the debris appeared to be on the lower, south side of the bridge when this photo was taken. Fossil find in Crocus Creek - my house front porch reminder 2018-04-29 - Crocus Creek gravel bar at Inroad, Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Linda spotted this fossil in a gravel bar on Crocus Creek, right before it joins Burns Creek. At first the coin-like feature appeared to be just that - a coin. On closer look, probably not. But it reminded me of a feature in the limestone masonry on our front porch growing up at 705 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY. Our father, E.P. Waggener, had a penny, the same year as the porch was built, imbedded in a similar fashion. Just wondering if anyone out there can comment on the fossil and the stone coin feature, and whether any special laws protects them.
