Students in top ten percent of class honored at CHS
 2018-05-08 - Taylor County, KY - Photo by Calen McKinney, public information office, Campbellsville Independent Schools. CHS hosted its annual banquet on Sunday, April 22, to honor the students making up the Top 10 percent of their class. The Top 10 percent award is given to students by class based solely on their cumulative GPA. The honor is given to CHS sophomores, juniors and seniors. CHS students honored at this year’s Top 10 percent banquet are, from left, front, sophomores Shelby Smith, Gracyne Hash and Zoe McAninch. Second row, sophomores Tristin Lopez, Emily Rodgers and Katelyn Miller. Third row, juniors Myles Murrell, Brandon Greer and Ian McAninch. Fourth row, juniors Elizabeth Sullivan, Reagan Knight and Jeremiah Jackson. Fifth row, seniors Kimberly Harden, Madison Dial and Bryce Richardson. Back, seniors Ryan Wiedewitsch, Alex Doss and Chanson Atkinson. Students who were unable to attend the banquet include sophomores Blake Allen and Conner Riley, junior Ryan Kearney and senior Samuel Kessler.

History-making alumnus will speak at LWC 107th commencement

The Honorable Michael Futrell, a former member of the Virginia House of Delegates, community leader and Lindsey Wilson College alumnus, Michael Futrell '07, will deliver the LWC spring commencement address Saturday. He made history in 2014 at the age of 31 when Futrell became the youngest African American to be elected a state delegate representing the 2nd House District in the Virginia General Assembly and the first African American to represent Stafford County, Va., in its 350 year existence. He is an activist for education, military and veteran families, and healthcare reform.
