C/AC Chamber Awards Banquet 2018: Not triplets

Connecting at the Chamber Awards Banquet, these three said they enjoyed a longtime friendship that included having folks think they are relatives. From left are Sherry Cook, Joyce Durham and Cathy Lawless. Joyce had both Sherry and Cathy as students in school. Gabby & Zoey Norris are 'Great Neighbor' Essay Contest winners

Tractor Supply is recognizing two local students from Breeding, KY, for their exceptional community contributions through its second annual "Great Neighbor" Essay Contest at the Taylor County Fair on Saturday, June 9, 2018. The students are:

Paired Photo: Gabby & Zoey Norris honored at Taylor County Fair 9 Jun 2018 They are the daughters of Mike And Sherri Norris Breeding. Both are students at Cumberland County High School in Burkesville, KY. The "Great Neighbor" Essay Contest encouraged youth across the country to submit a short essay detailing how a memorable 4-H or FFA experience has influenced their development as a great neighbor in their community. Tractor Supply received hundreds of entries, and those two students were selected as winners. They will be recognized during a special ceremony on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 2pmET, at the Tractor Supply booth inside the Taylor County Fair in Campbellsville, KY. - Lauren McKirgan

Brown and Brown of Kentucky is C/AC Outstanding Business

The C/AC Outstanding Business/Industry of the Year is Brown & Brown of Kentucky. In the photo accepting the award are brother and sister Mike Neal, fourth from right, and Georgina Roy, second from left in front. They are surrounded by staff members and presenters. The award was announced by Adair County Judge Executive Michael Lee Stephens, who said, "I am proud to introduce this strong contributor to Adair County's economic base. Mike Neal is a longtime friend and member of the business community who opened Brown & Brown service center as vice president. Under his leadership, the center has received recognition on a national level. They have grown to 97 employees. Revenues have increased from $2 million in 2008 to $22.7 million in 2018 - and they continue to grow."

Tammy Sexton Tarter is C/AC Outstanding Employee of 2018

C/AC Outstanding Employee of the Year is Tammy Sexton Tarter, second from left, WHVE FM 92.7. presented by station owner Mike Harris, center, who said, "Tammy is very deserving of this title. A great employee, great wife and mother, and a survivor. She works at two of our stations. She's the morning girl at the Wave, and then the mid-day dj at the Big Dawg in Campbellsville. She started with Shoreline as an intern at Lindsey Wilson, and has been with us ever since. We are very proud of her." Pictured from left are Rep. Peggy Lawson is elected C/AC Outstanding Volunteer of the year

Outstanding Volunteer of the Year is Peggy Lawson, center. Her award was presented by Steven Baker, to her left, who said, "You don't mention Relay for Life in Adair County, without hearing Peggy Lawson's name. All of the nominees for this award listed in the program, including my beautiful wife, need our applause. However, in the case of Peggy, she has given the greatest sacrifice of herself over the years. She's a mentor and a good friend - very deserving of this award." Pictured from left are Rep. Day & Day Farm wins C/AC Outstanding Agriculturist of Year

The C/AC Outstanding Agriculturist of the Year award went to Day & Day Farm & Pet Supply. The award was presented by Stephen Keen, who said, "When you mix three generations that span the decades you get a successful business. This was started in 1954 by Garland Day, and coming forward to today, this is a full service farm and feed supply business." Pictured are Rep.
