Crusade for Children roadblocks up Fri-Sat, 1-2 Jun 2018

The Columbia-Adair County Fire Department will be out in full force at all of the major intersections that we have manned in the past:
- Friday, June 1, 2018 from 3pm-8pmCT
- Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 8am-3pmCT
- Saturday, June 3, 2018, at 6pmCT/7pmET, live remote from Campbellsville with WBKO Channel 13.
If any churches or others missed us yesterday and have their money ready to turn in, you may contact Charlie Crawhorn 270-634-3512 or Donald Hare at 417-505-9241.

We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend and remember 100% of every dollar donated goes to the children. Let's make this Adair County's best year ever

Hilda Gay Legg, State Director of Rural Development, gave an inspirational speech at the Columbia/Adair County Chamber of Commerce banquet May 29, 2018. She wants her Adair County office to become one of her busiest. She challenged the leaders of Adair County to dream bigger, think outside the box, ask for more. Stephen Foster, Jimmie Bennett new AC Road Department employees

Stephen Foster, left, and Jimmie Bennett were hired as full time seasonal employees of the Adair County Road Department at a special called meeting of the Adair County Fiscal Court this morning, Friday, June 1, 2018. The court voted unanimously to accept its Personnel Committee's report and acted on the Personnel Committees recommendation to hire Foster and Bennett. They will be paid $9.60 per hour. - EW

Wayne and Thelma Hatcher wait patiently at C/AC banquet

Parents of the Columbia/Adair County Chamber of Commerce Business Woman of the Year, Wayne and Thelma Hatcher, center, waited patiently for their daughter Stacey Hatcher Wilson to be recognized at the May 29, 2018 banquet. Winners' identity is a guarded secret while Chamber leaders work quietly behind the scenes to let family and friends know who has won each year. Stacey said she had no idea but knew something was up when she discovered her family at the banquet after having just left them to go in a different direction a half hour before. She also noted that having a big base of family, co-workers and friends helped insure a large crowd at the banquet.

Stacey Hatcher Wilson, left, tried to hold back tears after being surprised by the announcement she's the Business Woman of the Year at the annual Chamber of Commerce banquet. Presenter Kaye Bowman, retired partner, said to the capacity crowd at this year's event in a tearful moment, that one of the best things about going in to work each morning was knowing she'd be working with Stacey. The two are partners with David Bowman in Community Medical Services. Chamber Executive Director Ellen Zornes looks on.
