At the Columbia/Adair County Chamber of Commerce banquet

2018-06-02 - Roberta D. Cranmer Dining Center, 430 Helen Flatt Drive, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
These two almost need no names written down as both are such well known figures in Adair County. Hilda Legg, left, asked for a keepsake photo as she honored her longtime friend Sue Stivers, right, for the tireless work she has given in the Chamber of Commerce, and continuing in the Tourism Department. Legg was guest speaker at the annual Chamber of Commerce banquet. Stivers recently retired from the position of Chamber Executive Director and had a day named in her honor with a special event organized by incoming Director Ellen Zornes. Sunrise 2 Jun 2018: Fog was a factor

2018-06-02 - From Pelham Branch Road, Columbia, Adair County, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Fog was a factor for early morning commuters this morning, especially in the higher levels in the South End of the County and on Campbellsville Road. But a bright sun quickly burned the clouds away, and above, seems to be burning through a barn roof. On a clear day, ridgeline on Keltner Road - old Campbellsville Road, old KY 55 N - can be clearly seen from this vantage point, but it was a blue haze this morning, Sat 02 Jun 2018. - EW

Trees of KY: Southern Magnolia, many splendored in late spring

2018-06-02 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
A huge white blossom of the Southern Magnolia is the showy trademark of the tree, and for many, the standard for the tree is the number and density and size of the blossoms. But there's another measure of beauty for others, and that is the range of color, colors for all seasons, all at once. Photo Sat 2 Jun 2018. - EW
