Trabue-Russell House - a bit of rose therapy

A walk through the Julia Miller Horton Rose Garden at the historic Trabue-Russell House, 201 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY, in springtime is always good therapy. These blossoms appear near the right front corner of the house. - LW

Wildflowers of KY: 2C Yucca - Not Yuca- backlit in Russell Co.

2018-06-07 - Outskirts of Russell Springs, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
They are prettiest now, especially when backlit by the dusking sun. An interesting note in en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yucca is that the plants are popular in cemeteries and at night appear as ghostly apparitions. - EW

Scene seen outside Greenville, TX: Dog restroom

2018-06-07 - Greenville, Hunt County, TX - Photo by Evan & Pen.
With all the buzz about Dog Walks at local parks these days, here's an idea from Greenville, TX. Any Adair County who learned Latin in Ms. Hazel Kerbow's class at Adair County High School is fully versed on everything one needs to know about Greenville, TX, and "The Longest Pass" there executed by former Mayor Rives Kerbow in his football days. For others not so fortunate as to be super knowledgeable in Latin and Greenville, TX, there's information online at Wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenville,_Texas

Outdoor Catalpa (or is it 'Bear') Room at Lindsey Wilson College

2018-06-07 - Fairground Street Lawn, Dr. Robert & Carol Goodin building, Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Beneath an artfully trimmed catalpa canopy, there's room for a party, even a small wedding perhaps, a picnic, or, maybe romantic place for a wedding proposal, under this year's most beautiful specimen of the species. A beady, bad-eyed, big ol' bear, some will notice, sternly monitors all goings-on there. If you see it, give yourself a Blue Ribbon Bear Board genius gold star to stick on your forehead, just like the one they gave you in Vacation Bible School a three-quarters of century ago. If you don't, just claim to be sane, and accept a self-congratulatory, auto-administered pat on the back. Squint Hint: The bear is a bit to the left, high on the trunk. Now do you see it?. - EW
