The Adair County School District campus is a clean, green, well lighted place, looking Friday, May 9, 2018, as though the school were expecting company, or an emergency start to school It was being utilized: Several were out running, walking or other wise exercising for health. And birds were using the highest vantage points to watch for whatever birds want to see. - EW

The City of Columbia installed bright new banners on the Square today, June 8, 2018. The breeze was having fun twisting the flag behind the new banner at the Campbellsville Street corner but the colors all made for an inviting downtown.

Good time to use free tipping; very little waiting

There was almost no waiting for free tipping, Friday, June 8, 2018, at 12:10pmCT, at the Mid-State Waste Transfer Station, 877 L Willis Road, Columbia, KY Free tipping continues on Saturday June 9, 2018 from 7am until 12pmNoonCT. The situation is very different from like last year. The organization this time is keeping vehicles moving with almost no delays. by 2:45pmCT, two full tractor trailer loads of trash had been shipped to Onieida, TN for disposal. - Vicky Pike

Edwards receives Teri Bennett ExCel Deputy of the Year Award


2018-06-08 - Columbia, KY .

Landon Edwards, a deputy in the Adair County PVA office, received the Teri Bennett ExCel Deputy of the Year award at the annual PVA Summer Conference in Covington, KY. The awards ceremony was hosted by the Kentucky Property Valuation Administrators Association and the Department of Revenue on Wednesday June 6, 2018. The Bennett award is given yearly to the PVA deputy who displays outstanding service to their county office in all areas while working tirelessly for the taxpayers of their county. Mr. Edwards is a native of Adair County and has been with the PVA Office for 11+ years. He is the son of Tommy and Sharon Edwards, and the husband of Dana Brockman Edwards. With the award from the KY PVA Association came this message, "Congratulations Landon on this tremendous honor!" Submitted by the PVA Education Committee
