Wildflowers of KY: Elderberry got bugs; unsafe here for humans

There was a time when it was safe for Elderberry fanciers to spot plants at this time of year by Adair County Roadsides and bank in their memory for harvest time gleaning for jams and jellies and elderberry wine. Not now. Not after over years of roadside poisoning. No way to alert these pollinators, but there is time to listen to the Cassandras who told us so. - EW

While farming operations continue just right across the road at the Pampered Angus Ranch in the farming community of Greater Bliss. The girls were mesmerized at all the activity for their viewing pleasure today with no reaction to Miss Shannon’s Quick Lube wind sock, yet. But I am sure it will catch their eye soon.
