Tillie Waggener has enjoyed many celebrations in the month around her seventh birthday, traveling and exploring, including in this photo, looking out on the Ohio River. Her hand appears to be touching the bridges between Louisville and southern Indiana. I asked her how she felt high up overlooking the Ohio and she said it's pretty muddy and needs cleaning up. Tom writes: "A herd of baby woolly caterpillars are growing in the weeds of our garden at home." We are told they are Milkweed Tussock Caterpillars, some very fascinating creatures. Their fearsome black and orange coloration is meant to serve as a warning that they are not a tasty meal for the bats which might prey on them.
