Love, Grandmother Audrey Pearl McBeth McKinley's Hibiscus
2018-06-28 - McKinley Lane, Columbia, KY - Photo by Mitzi Bault. My Hibiscus Bush is showing me lot's of love from my Grandmother Audrey McBeth McKinley. When Grandmother's house on Short Street in Russell Springs was sold, my Daddy, L. G. (Peanut) McKinley, brought a little of my Grandmother to 612 Fairground St. Well, anyone that knows me very well can guess... Yep! I sent Ricky Bault to dig me up a start of it also. This year I just see the love of Grandmother Audrey Pearl through her Hibiscus Bush. Sometimes it can be a little confusing when you walk around our yard. You see both of my Grandmothers were named Audrey. - MB

Well mannered Dog of the Day: Border Collie in pickup
2018-06-28 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. For what must have been 7-10 minutes, this beautiful black and white dog scarcely changed its inscrutable gaze - not really posing, but not objecting to having its picture taken, either. It didn't make a sound, not even when it raised its left ear. A most gratifying encounter. - EW

Awn of Johnson Grass against stormy sky 25 Jun 2018
2018-06-28 - Along an Adair County, KY byway - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Johnson Grass has been combatted for decades. It's a really tough battle due to it's ability to broadcast its seeds from stems like these which are grudgingly aesthetic with an inflorescent glow, here, even more so, against stormy skies of Monday, 25 Jun 2018. - EW
