2018-07-04 - In the land triangulated by Russell Springs/Jamestown, Montpelier, & Olga - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Heavy rains the past few days have made the grass greener. Drawn closer by the framing, surely the massive round bale must appear larger than it is. - EW

Cat finds respite from Middletown heat
2018-07-03 - Middletown, Russell County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. The first sighting and compulsion to photograph was that the cat was beautiful, and seemingly contented on a sweltering day in Russell County. On closer inspection its evident that it was taking advantage of the shade, aligning its body perfectly with the shade of the utility pole. - EW

Robert Ellis: Packard in Mayslick, KY - Part I
2018-07-03 - Mayslick, KY - Photo by Robert Ellis. Packard in Mayslick, KY. This photo was taken last weekend around the Mayslick area. It took some tracking down to find this particular location, since it had been awhile since the photographer I was traveling with, who originally located it, couldn't offhand quite remember where it was. From the road you'll miss this place since it is down a grown up lane. There were five or six antique vehicles parked in the vicinity of this abandoned old homestead. The owner of the farm that surrounds this home said he gets weekly visitors inquiring if the antique cars are for sale. - ROBERT ELLIS. Photo (c) Robert Ellis Woodworking.com. Other vehicles on the property were a Jaguar, Austin, and a couple Karmann Ghia's. Paired Photo. See - Robert Ellis: Packard in Mayslick, KY - Part II

Flower pot garden thriving
2018-07-03 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com. Mint, Rosemary and Basil are thriving in bright yellow flower pots out back. Each has a special meaning -- the mint is from a start from the garden of my children and grandchildren. The Rosemary and Basil were discovered on a visit with a friend at Farmers Market on the Square. There's also a Morning Glory I'm looking forward to seeing bloom, a gift from a friend in business across town. - LW
