Happy birthday to Chamber President Pam Hoots - July 10

2018-07-11 - Roberta D. Cranmer Dining and Conference Center, Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, columbiamagazine.com.

Those attending the monthly Columbia Adair Chamber of Commerce meeting July 10, 2018 got to share in singing happy birthday to president Pamela Hoots. The singing was led by Mark Fudge. The Chamber meets each second Tuesday and today happened to be her birthday.

During the board meeting prior to the lunch session, it was reported that membership is growing. A board position has opened up as Rev. Bobby Bowe resigned due to special family health concerns. He represented the voice of the church and a replacement is sought first from among the Columbia-Adair County churches that are members of the Chamber. - LW

Another perfect cotton candy (jobs) fair day in Columbia, KY

2018-07-10 - Parking lot of Columbia/Adair County Chamber Building, along E Fortune Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Not only was our town's white crepe myrtle on E Fortune Street in cotton candy phase, but so were the fair days clouds cottony candyish in the bluest skies of summer. The awkward angle, was necessitated holding a camera and a heavy branch out of the way, all of which was more than compensated by an out-of-towner on the way to the Tarter Farm & Ranch Equipment Jobs Fair, who commented on the beauty of the crepe myrtle, the day, and our town. She made the photographer's day as much as the finding this interesting new angle on the Historic Adair County Courthouse when the pictures were processed. EW/LW
