FM2 a good place for candidates like Richard Steele

2018-07-28 - Corner of Merchant and Campbellsville Streets, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Richard Steele, write-in candidate for State Representative, 51st District, Adair and Taylor Counties asked for votes at Farmers Market on the Square in Columbia Saturday July 28, 2018. In this picture he was grilled by Lindsey Wilson College educator Jackie Montgomery, at left, who wanted to know his views in detail. Steele said the final straw in his motivation to run as a write-in candidate in the November general election was his opposition to the current administration's treatment of education funding, the pension system and right to work. He also shared that he would vote for immediate legalization of Hemp and medical Marijuana because he said he is finding the majority of citizens want it done. Richard and his wife Alice are residents of Campbellsville, KY. He can be reached on Facebook and by email at writeinrichard@gmail.com for more information. - LW

Jane Reed & Co. - All smiles for Paz-Holley at FM2 - 28 Jul 2018

2018-07-28 - FM2 at Municipal Parking Lot, Campbellsville & Merchant Streets, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Jane Reed, left, ready for Paz-Holley Project at FM2 this Saturday morning, July 28, 2018, visits with Nancy Loy, Jackie Montgomery & Veronica Klinglesmith. Everybody seems to be happy and smiling at FM2, especially Paz-Holley Fundraisers. Since the project started 139 days ago, on March 12, 2018, the drive has raised an average of over $500 per day. In recent days, the average has nearly doubled, and now needs $35,000 be over the top. Organizers wonder what if every single person in Adair County gave just $2 today? That would put the drive over the top immediately. And what if one of the original donors just made sure they and 10 more gave at least $2, now, the deserving Paz-Holley family would be in their new home shortly after school starts. What if? - LW/EW
