Fog is a factor this morning, Fri 3 Aug 2018

2018-08-03 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
When Blue knocked on the door this morning protesting a late breakfast, he didn't complain, but fog was a factor in his dining room, the plantation view table, there was no plantation to see. Roseland was shrouded in fog, with barely anything visible beyond the fence. - EW

Gardening - 2018 has been a fabulous year for tomato growers

2018-08-02 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
This summer has been a fabulous year for tomato growers. The Heirloom on the left came from Bruce Wilson's garden, and is huge for its size. The cherry tomato on the right came from the garden of Ed & Linda Waggener, and is "ever bit" as remarkable, a special salad tomato, and as pampered as an only child tomato. It represents half the entire harvest for 2018 so far, with no sign of more. The tastes: the Heirloom is the best I ever ate. The cherry tomato? We'll let you know after it's shared and savored. - EW
