These July flowers growing beside Leatherwood Church Road in western Adair County, KY have the look of Phlox. I don't have evidence to prove that, just enjoyed seeing them blooming. - LW

Paz-Holley Project: A grateful heart of thanks to all for helping

2018-08-05 - Adair County High School, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, columbiamagazine.com.
Annie Holley and two of her ten children were at the South Central Kentucky Outdoor Expo Saturday where the boys got to experience archery while she visited with folks who wanted to learn more about the needs of the Paz-Holley Project. The Holleys didn't ask for help, but the community stepped up when Annie and her husband Mark took in his sister's five children after her death. The Paz-Holley Project fundraiser last week passed 75% of the way to the purchase price of a home large enough to fit the needs of a dozen family members. Annie said she and Mark are so deeply grateful for all the help for the children. Her message, "From the bottom of our hearts, the Holley/Paz-Holley family thanks every single one of you!" With the help of hundreds of donors, the family will have their home by Thanksgiving 2018. To help, contact Paz-Holley Project chairman Rick Wilson at 270-378-1490. - Linda Waggener
