Birds of Kentucky: Dove silhouette

2018-08-21 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com .
A symbol of gentle nature, too good for their own good. This mourning dove was on the most interesting top limb, and posed seemingly undisturbed. A wonder? Are there dove whisperers among us. Anyone know anyone who can talk to doves and get them toe fly to their hand or shoulder? - EW

What to name the new baby at the Pampered Angus Ranch?

2018-08-20 - from New Columbia/Greater Bliss, Adair County, KY - Photo by Vicky Pike.
Vicky Pike of Miss Vicky's Pampered Angus Ranch, writes that calving season has started at the Pampered Angus Ranch. This little lady is a bit small and needed a little extra attention so I loaded them up and brought them to the outskirts of the big city of New Columbia. They are tucked away safely in the barn tonight. Ellie Mae is no longer the baby of the place but at least she has a sister to keep her company and teach her all about life on the Ranch. Guess we will need a name for her. I'm up for suggestions. - Vicky Browning Pike

Suggested names, comments
  1. Charles Marshburn - Charles Marshburn offers name for new calf at Miss Vicky's
  2. Billy Joe Fudge - Autumn Fog
  3. Brenda Clark - New baby at Miss Vicky's should be called Blissy
  4. JIM - Latest proposal for GB's newest citizen: :New Cowlumbia"
