Plane crashes attempting landing at Columbia/Adair Co. Airport

First responders approach an airplane which crashed today at the Columbia-Adair County Airport. The pilot, 72 year old James Michael Malone, along with a passenger, 70 year old Linda Maloney advised they experienced some problems with the aircraft and communicated on their radio for the nearest airport location, that being The Columbia/Adair County Airport. The pilot advised the plane had almost come to a stop when it suddenly dropped off the end of the runway and it was unable to stop traveling down a large embankment, finally coming to rest in a fence. - ACSO DEPUTY BRANDON HITCH

The little purple shells among Tillie's discoveries (in the lower left of this picture) are labeled "Cypraea onyx Linne. 1758 Cebu, Philippines." They are part of the award winning shell collection of former Lindsey Wilson College Trustee Roberta D. Cranmer whose name graces the dining center.
