'Blessed' - Monica Janes' message story for all in 5 car collision - II

2018-09-03 - SW Corner, Burkesville Road & Columbia Veterans Memorial Parkway, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener .
The five car collision was a horrifying incident on Friday, August 31, 2018. That can't be denied. But it could have been so much worse. First responders were expecting to find an even greater tragedy. There were injuries. And enormous property damage. But miraculously, it seems, there were no fatalities. No fires, though Adair County Firefighters were on hand in case. And none of the injuries required airlifts to Louisville, Lexington, or Nashville, but units were on standby just in case. - EW. As the walls are raised, the surrounding earth leveled and smoothed, I can anticipate landscaping, choosing the shrubs and perennials that will define a dooryard created from a former rough pasture. 'Cellar hole' and 'Door yard' are terms firmly lodged in our lexicon, part of our sense of place. They mark the beginning of what will become 'home.'"
