HGR Fall Festival 2018 - Landon Marcum, Bonner, fixes door
 2018-09-04 - Homeplace on Green River, 5807 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY - Photo by George Kolbenschlag, Homeplace on Green River. Landon Marcum, a Bonner Scholarship student from Owensboro, worked to fix this door so it would close as one of several things he has done at Homeplace on Green River this week to help prepare for the Homeplace Fall Heritage Festival this Saturday. The Bonner Scholars receive financial aid and are required to do at least 280 hours of community service each year. Marcum is one of two Bonner Scholars who have chosen Homeplace to do their service. The Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Foundation provides financial support to select students at one of its member colleges in exchange for community service. Currently the program supports some 1500 students at 27 campuses one of which is Lindsey Wilson.

Map of the inside of the coming new Russell County Library

The architect's rendering of the interior of the new Russell County Public Library is in the window of the Main Street branch where staff say they can't wait to be in the new location. Click here to see the drawing of the building from the groundbreaking earlier this year. The large new library building will be located on the corner of Highway 127 and 92 in Jamestown, KY. Information sheets provided indicates they will offer meeting spaces for 200+, new technology, expanded and accessible services and a wider selection of materials. The timeline plans for completion and opening next spring. - LW
