Epicurean Kentuckian: Deluxe slice at Impellizeri's

2018-09-11 - Blankenbaker, Louisville, KY - Photo by Pen.
Pen writes: Don't know if Louisville pizza is helpful, if there's a new local spot, but this is the Deluxe Slice, which is the lunch special from Impellizeri's new location on Blankenbaker Louisville, KY. - PEN.
Note: Very appropriate in this age of the Great Pizza Wars in Columbia. The Deluxe Slice looks like the greatest pizza in the Louisville area since pizza making reached it's apex with Kenny Paster's Avery Street Pizza Place across from Masterson's near the UL campus, in the early 1960's. No pizzeria since has matched their sausage, green pepper, and onion slice. Steve Aaron, in his pre-med days, is credited with discovering it.
