3,572 Donors in 48 hours, gifts totaling $1.4 Million
2018-09-18 - Columbia, KY - Photo courtesy Lindsey Wilson College. Lindsey Wilson College Board of Trustees Chair Allan Parnell of Louisville, Ky., presented a facsimile check of $1.4 million to LWC President William T. Luckey Jr., at Blue Raider Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, before kick-off at the Blue Raiders vs. University of Pikeville football game.
Parnell pledged that if the LWC received gifts from 3,000 donors during the 48-hour period of Sept. 11-12 he and other members of the LWC Board would add $1 million to scholarship aid. The two-day campaign, dubbed "All In For LWC," attracted 3,572 gifts totaling more than $1.4 million. Since the Chair's Challenge began in 2014, the number of donors has increased by 2,912 and the total dollars raised has increased over $1.2 million - simply amazing!

Epicurean Kentuckian: Well dressed bologna sandwich
2018-09-18 - Pleasureville, KY - Photo by Pen. A well dressed German Bologna and Farmer's Cheese sandwich, from The Farm Stead Market, 10712 Castle Hwy, Pleasureville, KY. The sandwich was delicious, and made with care and precision. We suspect that the placement of the pickles, etc., is a holdover from a time when men were men and bread was sturdier.

Continuing prayers requested for Ed
2018-09-17 - Lindsey Wilson College, 210 Lindsey Wilson Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, columbiamagazine.com. Please continue keeping ColumbiaMagazine.com editor Ed Waggener and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate the unknown over the days ahead. He suffered cardiac arrest at home Thursday evening. He was revived by Adair County EMS and rushed to the hospital where he remains in critical condition. We are trying to be bedside as much as possible, but Ed's priority has always been that the news must be delivered, so we'll keep updating Columbia Magazine, too. We know it would mean a lot to him if you keep sending news and pictures, and if you recall a special photo or story from over the 20+ years of archives, it would be wonderful to have that reminder to share. This photo is a favorite from a visit to Lindsey Wilson College last year.
