Photosynthesis is a wire sculpture created in 2014 by artist Myung Gyun You. It is on display in Bernheim Forest. You can read more about the sculpture on the Bernheim website.

LWC to Celebrate Annual Church College Day

The Lindsey Wilson College community will celebrate its connection to The United Methodist Church today, Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 2:30pmCT with Church College Celebration Day in V.P. Henry Auditorium, 210 Lindsey Wilson Street, KY.

Church College Celebration Day was started more than 25 years ago by then-LWC Provost and Dean of the Faculty Walter S. Reuling as an expression of the college's relationship with The United Methodist Church. LWC was founded in 1903 by the Methodist Episcopal Church, South to prepare students for Vanderbilt University. Today, the college is affiliated with the Kentucky Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church. The celebration is free and open to the public.

Homeplace fall theater opens with Smoke on the Mountain

The fall program at the Homeplace on Green River show barn begins September 29 with the return of the very popular performance of the musical, Smoke on the Mountain.

Space is limited so make your reservations early by calling or e-mailing Phil Hanna at (270) 384-2894 or cphanna51@msn.com. The cost for Smoke and One Man's Lincoln will be $20 for the show and fish dinner, $10 for just the show.

From the Wikipedia page on the Kentucky Railway Museum: "The Kentucky Railway Museum, now located in New Haven, Kentucky, United States, is a non-profit railroad museum dedicated to educating the public regarding the history and heritage of Kentucky's railroads and the people who built them. Originally created in 1954 in Louisville, Kentucky, the museum is at its third location, in extreme southern Nelson County. It is one of the oldest railroad stations in the United States."

Accordingn to Wikipedia, the statue of Lincoln "was built to commemorate the centennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth, which occurred a few miles south of Hodgenville on February 12, 1809."
