Kentucky Color: Beaver Pond

2018-09-24 - Tebb\'s Bend - Photo by Billy Joe Fudge.
Billy Joe Fudge writes: "I've seen beaver ponds in multiple Western States and on several streams in Kentucky but there are none more serene or National Geographic than this one located on the Tebb's Bend Nature and Recreation Trail at Homeplace.

There is so much to see just beyond our own back yards that we don't have to drive hundreds or thousands of miles to experience Nature at it's very finest."

Bristol Wall

2018-09-24 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Alice Curry.
Bristol Wall poses with her Mechanimal.

After listening to the book Mechanimals, students created a model of animal using scrap materials. Their animal had to include at least some metal, and had to be able to meet its basic survival needs (food, shelter, oxygen, shelter.) This was the culminating assessment for our study of organism structure/function.

Note: we had misidentified Bristol this morning. Our apologies for the confusion
