Black Walnuts are a staple for squirrels during the winter months. Squirrels will sometimes carry walnuts, one at a time, hundreds of yards and hide them in choice locations for lean times. As you can see this enterprising Walnut transporter (near center of photo) has found a safe way to cross Burkesville Street which is one of the busiest streets in Downtown Columbia. The closest Black Walnut from whence this Top of the Line Transporter hailed is in the yard of the Field House according to my personal observation. Arrest results after stolen auto is apprehended in Columbia 2018-10-02 - 320 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY - Photo by Mitzi Bault. Kentucky State Police Post 15 Trooper Begley was attempting to locate a stolen gray 2006 Ford Escape when he observed the suspect vehicle traveling south bound on Ky 55. When he initiated his emergency equipment in an attempt to initiate a traffic stop, the driver fled and ran through a red light at the bypass intersection of north KY 55 then exited the vehicle as she began to enter congested traffic while approaching the town square. The apprehension took place in front of the Adair Pawn and Gun business on Campbellsville Street in Columbia.
