Steven Baker presented Judge Rollin T. Hurt and Ernestine Bennett, pictured here assisting him, presented Kate Grady in the 2018 Silent City Tour of the Columbia City Cemtery. They were among seven who shared vignettes of history about the lives of selected residents.

Melanie Brown portrays Emma Eubank in Silent City Tour

Each October, during Family History and Archives Month, the Adair Public Library and Genealogy Association host "Silent City" a tour of the city cemetery and some of the folks who are buried there. Melanie Brown is pictured here in her portrayal of Emma Eubank 1887-1939.

Columbians J.D. and Ellen Zornes portrayed Hershal Tate and Mattie Baker in the 2018 Silent City Tour in the Columbia Cemetery Monday, October 1. This year marks the 12th annual historical event set in Family History and Archives Month.

Mike Watson a presenter in 2018 Columbia Silent City Tour

Historian Mike Watson stands beside the grave of the man he portrayed in the 2018 Silent City Tour, Timoleon Cravens. Watson was one of seven local actors who presented bits of history about those who reside in the Columbia City Cemetery each October during Family History Month.

Viceroy Butterfly

The Viceroy butterfly is very similar to the well-known Monarch. According to the Wikipedia entry on Limenitis archippus, "It can be distinguished from the monarch by its smaller size and the postmedian black line that runs across the veins on the hindwing."

Unusual cloud formation

Tommy writes, "Went out looking toward the west for a sunset that wasn't suitable, turned around started back in the house and looked directly to the east and there was this unusual cloud formation. Maybe I should look to the east more often."
