Original Hardwood Floors

Larry writes, "This hardwood floor is the original floor on Main Street in Campbellsville at Harden Coffee Shop. The hardwood was shipped into Campbellsville by train in the late 1800's. Most buildings on Main Street have this type hardwood."

Downtown Days: Expect cooler temps than last year

The forecast is for cool weather today. The National Weather Service says to expect "Increasing clouds, with a high near 60. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon, then a chance of light rain, mostly cloudy, with an overnight low around 43."

This photo is from last year's festival, when the high was in the 80's, and the low closer to 60.

Chestnut from Columbia tree - not yet roasted

This Chestnut is from a Columbia tree discovered this week during some brush clearing. It and others on the tree are scheduled for some "roasting on an open fire," as the holiday song goes. The bearer of the Chestnut samples was remembering that at one time the largest of these trees in the state was located in Adair County.
