Downtown Days: Retail Businesses Remained Open

Retail businesses like Libby's on Burkesville Street in Columbia decided to remain open during the festival on Friday evening because it was a pre-planned "To The Nines" night market. They were located behind food booths but made a special welcoming front entry to attract shoppers passing by during the Downtown Days festival. Pictured are owners Libby and Billy Joe Fudge.

A pie in the face for charity

Campbellsville Independent Schools Superintendent Kirby Smith participated in Taylor County Bank's Charity Harvest event on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018. The event raised money for Green River Ministries, American Legion Post 82, The Hope Pregnancy Center, Crusade for Children, Toys for Kids and the Taylor County Food Pantry.

Supt. Smith volunteered to receive pies in the face in exchange for donations to the charities.
