Pumpkins were everywhere for the annual Downtown Days festival in Columbia, KY October 12 and 13, 2018. This row seemed to be people watching, observing all the different folks, large and small, young and old, who were strolling among booths and shops.

While Tiffany and Jason Collins were busy with Downtown Days Saturday, October 13, 2018, her parents, Tony and Sandra Lowery came from Nicholasville to help little grandson Jagger Collins, 2, take in the festival activities. By mid-afternoon he had to declare nap time on Granddad's shoulder. - LW

Birds of Kentucky: Eastern Bluebird

Wikipedia has this to say about the Eastern Bluebird (Sialia sialis), "Bluebirds feed by perching on a high point, such as a branch or fence post, and swooping down to catch insects on or near the ground. The availability of a winter food source will often determine whether or not a bird will migrate. If bluebirds do remain in a region for the winter, they group and seek cover in heavy thickets, orchards, or other areas in which adequate food and cover resources are available."
