Miss Kentucky Visits ACMS

Miss Kentucky 2018 Katie Bouchard visited ACMS, on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. Bouchard, who is the official spokesperson for Kentucky Proud, spoke to all of the students about setting goals. Her official platform is "Being the Voice for Kentucky's Children." Students enjoyed hearing about her role as Miss Kentucky and all that it entails.

Entering McCreary County over the Cumberland River Bridge

A day trip east from our area found this awesome scene of the bridge spanning the Cumberland River just ahead of Cumberland Falls, complete with beginning fall color on the trees surrounding it. In addition to being the home of Cumberland Falls, the county has a population of 18,000+ and the county seat is Whitley City.

CES 3rd grader Izzy Brunelle holds her trait monster

Campbellsville Elementary School students are learning about inherited traits. In Patty Haley's third-grade class, students are studying that, while everyone is unique, they also inherit specific traits from their parents. As an exercise, students created their own monsters. The monsters had three inherited traits from their parents, and two learned behaviors. After writing about their monsters, students drew a picture of them and gave them names. CES third-grader Izzy Brunelle holds her trait monster.

Patty Pike Barbour and husband Michael with friend Vicky

Vicky Pike, center, enjoyed an extended visit with former ACHS class of 1978 classmate Patty Pike Barbour and husband, Michael, before they headed home to Iowa. The couple drove nearly a dozen hours to be at Patty's class reunion and also to visit with family. The reunion was held Saturday in Columbia.
