The Barn Along Highway 127, Russell Co., KY

Robert writes, "I spotted this beautiful barn on my return trip home from photographing the Greasy Creek Falls and Creek in Russell County. Honestly after hiking back to the Falls and spending a couple hours in that area, I was worn out, and jokingly told myself, while heading home, I wasn't getting the camera out for any reason...right.
My return home included visiting relatives in the Pellyton area; hence the reason for being in this part of Russell County, which is not the normal way back home. Initially I drove past the barn, but turned around to stop and get permission to take some photos. Mr. and Mrs. G L Rosenbaum, Miss Violet Rosenbaum, of Fairplay, and Mr. Elwood Rosenbaum, of Frankfort, left Sunday for West Point, N.Y. to attend the commencement exercises at the United States Military Academy.
On this impressive occasion their son and brother, Cadet Bert Rosenbaum, who entered the Academy four years ago, will receive his commission as Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. This is a hard won honor and Bert is receiving the congratulations of his many friends at home and elsewhere.

The prettiest pink rose of fall 2018 also passes the sniff test

Beautiful roses are everywhere this fall and I personally visit as many of them as possible. This one on Jamestown Street in Columbia impressed me as the prettiest with its blossoms as big as your hand, and best overall, because it also passed the sniff test - giving off the perfume of a real rose. That was verified by Ellen Zornes who also checked it close-up before declaring it real.

Clerk's office is back to basics now that election 2018 is over

The big smiles on the faces of Sonja Reeder, Tabitha Denton and Sheila Blair showed relief that election 2018 was just about to close out on November 6. The Adair County Clerk's office staff had a holiday yesterday as the county honored its Veterans and is back to the basics today.
