Kleckler named 2018 AFCA NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year

Lindsey Wilson football defensive coordinator Phil Kleckler has been named the 2018 American Football Coaches Association NAIA Assistant Coach of the Year, AFCA officials announced on Tuesday.

Kleckler is the second Lindsey Wilson assistant coach to receive the honor. Mike Gutelius earned the honor in 2015. Lindsey Wilson is one of 15 institutions to have two all-time recipients of the honor.

Abandoned farm pond in GRL WMA

This small pond in the Green River Lake WMA had been partly drained when it became government property in the late Sixties, but still holds a nice pool of clear water.

One old tree among youngsters

All the trees in this area of the Green River Lake Wildlife Management Area, except one large oak, looked to be less than 50 years old. A 1953 Topography map shows it to have been in a large area of cleared farm land.
