Birds of Kentucky: House Finch

2018-12-02 - Nelson Co., KY - Photo by Bill Badgett.
All About Birds has this to say about house finches: "House Finches are gregarious birds that collect at feeders or perch high in nearby trees. When they’re not at feeders, they feed on the ground, on weed stalks, or in trees. They move fairly slowly and sit still as they shell seeds by crushing them with rapid bites. Flight is bouncy, like many finches."

2018-12-01 - Taylor County, KY - Photo by Larry J. Smith, General Manager, The Big Dawg, FM 99.9 radio.
"This 1936 Fire Truck was one of around 65-70 entries in the Campbellsville Christmas Parade tonight, December 1, 2018. It was a grand event and the weather remained steady until the last vehicle completed its journey, then the storm broke. I was honored to be the Christmas Parade Coordinator for this year and everyone was happy the weather held off just long enough to enjoy it." - Larry
