Grandma takes first place 2018-12-16 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Tiffany Kessler. First Place in the float competition went to Damon's CTA and Froedge Trucking for their spectacular rendition of "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer". Tara Coomer played "Grandma" and did a wonderful job dramatizing the part as she was continuously run over by the rigged up deer. Laughter was heard throughout the parade route as the float went perfectly with this year's theme "Songs of Christmas". Sorcha Wooten, 13, and Mathew Townsend, 14, did an excellent job portraying Mary and Joseph on the Columbia Baptist Church float. Despite the typical number of onlookers that line the streets of downtown Columbia, the number of float entries were down this year almost certainly due to rain.
