Moving the tassel
 2018-12-19 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Travis Smith. Ph.D. recipient Leon Ellison of Cincinnati moves the tassel of his mortar board right to left, to symbolically signify his graduation from LWC. Ellison became the first graduate of the Doctorate of Philosophy in Counselor Education & Supervision Program. Ellison was among 411 individuals who were awarded undergraduate and graduate degrees as the first half of LWC's Class of 2019 graduated on Saturday, Dec. 15.

A standing ovation for first-ever LWC PhD

Leon Ellison of Cincinnati received a well-deserved standing ovation from graduates and onlookers as he crossed the stage in Biggers Sports Center on Saturday to become the first graduate of the Doctorate of Philosophy in Counselor Education & Supervision Program. It was the first Ph.D. awarded in Lindsey Wilson's 115-year history.

 2018-12-19 - Somerset, KY - Photo by Innocent Bystander. Adair County Judge Executive Elect Gale Cowan, right, and Columbia Mayor Elect Pamela Hoots at left, attended a session on Kentucky Opportunity Zones this week. It was sponsored by the Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet.
While at the meeting, they also met with Hilda Legg, Kentucky State Director of the USDA. Legg is an Adair County native from the Knifley community.
