The December meeting of the Adair County School Board was a brief one, held during the Christmas break. Superintendent Stephens said that school will resume on Thursday, January 3, 2019. Regular business matters were handled in a rare 15-minute meeting and ended with good Christmas and New Year wishes for everyone. The December 2018 Adair County Board of Education meeting included a thank you to board member Michael G. Payne, appointed to fill out the 2018 term of former board member Mike Harris who retired in May. School Board Chair Lisa Burton presented a plaque of appreciation to him and said, "The Adair County School Board is very honored to have had Michael Payne serve these past months on the School Board."
