Thomas Edison Butchertown House 2019-01-03 - Louisville, KY - Photo by Pen. Thomas Edison (1847-1931) is thought to have rented a room in this house on Washington Street during his 18-month stay in Louisville. As a young man he conducted experiments, often all night, then walked to his job as telegraph operator at 58 West Main Street.
