Stargel qualifies for state wrestling competition

On Sunday, January 20, 2019, 13 year old Trayton Stargel, who wrestles for the Taylor County Youth Wrestling Program, took 2nd place at the 2019 KFWC Youth Region 2 Wrestling Tournament in the 130 pound weight division.

Thomas receives top award from State Fair Association

Greg Thomas of Columbia, KY is the recipient of The L. "Doc" Cassidy Award, given for outstanding service and dedication to the stair fair association, of which Thomas was president in 2016. Jaycees Adair County Fair leader, popular photographer, state health department employee and former Adair Emergency Management Director, Thomas received the top award of the Kentucky Association of Fairs and Shows at its annual convention Saturday in Louisville, from Mike Poynter of Lincoln County, last year's winner.

Lunar Eclipse tonight

A complete lunar eclipse is underway tonight, with the mooning turning fully red about now. This shot is from about 40 minutes before the total eclipse, as the shadow just started to cover the moon.

CU holds first chapel of the spring semester

Dr. Donna Hedgepath, provost and vice president for academic affairs, spoke to faculty, staff, students and coaches during the first spring spemester chapel. Hedgepath gave a few updates about the campus and spoke on the diversity of CU. She said, "Everyone must learn to understand our differences and love one another with Christ's love. There is no room for hate or bigotry." Chapel services in Ransdell Chapel each Wednesday on the campus are free and open to all.
