With rain and more rain, we get mist, more mist and fog

Our historic Adair County Courthouse clock tower - our center - was about the only thing visible in the morning mist and fog resulting from the abundance of rain we've been getting.

Stop & Verify - don't be victims of scam artists

Lori Farris, the Outreach Coordinator in the Kentucky Attorney General's Office of Senior Protection, offered key words of the day - "Stop and Verify" - to help senior citizens avoid being victims of scams. She stressed do not take any action without stopping and then making sure that what you are being told is valid. Take no immediate action - immediacy is what scammers deal in. They stir emotions as in - "your family member is in the hospital/jail...", "you are the winner of...", "you can make a huge amount of money..." and always, "you must tell no one, and you must act immediately or lose." She says beware of ANY call from anyone requesting money and/or action without you having a chance to "stop and verify".

Rainy forecast takes us back to flooded Cville Street bridge

Ann Curtis shared this keepsake from her mother's collection, taken from the Sandusky yard (probably porch), and says there seem to be several views of this it in existence. Mitzi's picture from last month of this flooded bridge showed more of the crowd in the yard.
This old iron bridge probably withstood lots of floods before it finally collapsed under the weight of a semi truck crossing over it! The story of the experience is in Ed Waggener's

The two-story white frame house is still standing on the opposite bank, as well as the smaller white frame house. I believe the McLeans lived in the large one, and Mother's grandparents, the Suttons, lived in the small one. Mother used to walk across the bridge frequently to visit her Grandma Sutton. -- Ann

Dr. Billy Compton, pastor of Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church and a graduate of Campbellsville College, will be the chapel speaker at Campbellsville University at 9amCT/10amET Wednesday, Feb. 13 in Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.
He has served as pastor of Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church since August 2018. He graduated from Campbellsville College with an English/Bible major and minor and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity.
