Here is another photo of the Southwest corner of the Columbia Public Square in earlier years when retail businesses filled each of the buildings, both upstairs and down. We have had several of the businesses named, just a few need to be added. This is a view from what is today the Edward D. Jones agency, looking straight across to the Southwest side the Square.

Randall Knox named Lindsey Wilson Tennis Coach
 2019-02-14 - Columbia, KY - Photo courtesy Lindsey Wilson College. Randall Knox has been named Lindsey Wilson College's men and women's tennis head coach, Lindsey Wilson athletics director Willis Pooler announced on Wednesday.
Knox takes over for Justin Martin, who resigned last month.

At the February 2019 Chamber of Commerce luncheon

The Columbia-Adair Chamber of Commerce held their regular monthly luncheon Tuesday, February 12, 2019 to hear updates on the city from new Mayor Pam Hoots and on the county from new Judge Executive Gale Cowan. Mayor Hoots, who also serves as President of the local chamber, welcomed those in attendance and thanked DUO-Broadband, sponsor of the February meeting.

4-H Cloverbuds working with 4-H Teen Council volunteers

In what has become tradition this time of year, 4-H Cloverbuds work with 4-H Teen Council volunteers by showing gratitude and serving their parents a delicious spaghetti dinner. Preparing to serve the parents in attendance Monday night were a mix of 4-H Cloverbuds and 4-H Teen Council members which served as cooks and overseers. 4-H Cloverbuds is a free program provided for children eight and under. Meetings are held once a month at the Adair County Extension Office. Tony Rose serves as the Extension Agent for 4-H Youth Development.

The February meeting enjoyed a large crowd there to hear AC Judge Executive Gale Cowan and Mayor Hoots present the state of the county and city.
