Benjamin Sapp wins $2,000 KHSAA-KDA scholarship 2019-03-11 - Russell Springs, KY - Photo courtesy Sherry Sapp. Benjamin Sapp of Russell County High School, the son of Zachary and Sherry Sapp, was among the six winners of the 2019 KHSAA-KDA Ag Athlete of the Year awards. The 2019 Ag Athletes of the Year were named at a ceremony during the Whitaker Bank/KHSAA Boys' Sweet Sixteen State Basketball Tournament on March 8 at Rupp Arena in Lexington. Adair County FFA Officers joined Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles in promoting the "Ag Tag" campaign. Kentucky motorists who buy or renew farm vehicle license plates, or "ag tags," may make a voluntary donation of up to $10 to the Ag Tag Fund. Donations to the Ag Tag Fund are divided equally among Kentucky 4-H, Kentucky FFA, and the Kentucky Department of Agriculture for youth development and promotional programs. Half of the 4-H and FFA funds go back to the county where the tag is purchased to support local programming, awards, and scholarships.
