New waterfowl hunting and fishing regulations proposed

The Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Commission proposed several new hunting and fishing regulations affecting waterfowl, bear and various fish species at its quarterly meeting March 8.

In fisheries-related business, among other things, the commission recommended approving a muskellunge research project on the Kentucky River.

Kentucky Color: A Perfect Imperfection

A burl is simply defined as an imperfection in the growth of a tree. However, it is a very sought after imperfection, since it is perfect for manufacturing one of a kind bowls, furniture, gun stocks and other products made from wood. This happens to be a White Oak burl. As far as I can tell, about all tree species can have burls. Other area hardwood burls highly esteemed are Walnut, Cherry and Sugar Maple, among others.
