Spanish Renaissance in Southern Indiana

St. Augustine Church is located on Chestnut Street in Jeffersonville, IN, just a couple of blocks north of the Ohio River. Built in spring of 1904, after the previous building was destroyed by a fire, the style of architecture was considered Spanish Renaissance.

Has a friend who just happens to be Governor

The hat leaves no doubt as to this man's loyalties. Vince Konsavage of Cumberland County, KY waited outside the V.P. Henry Auditorium at Lindsey Wilson College to be among the first to greet Gov. Matt Bevin on his stop in Columbia Tuesday, March 12, 2019. Konsavage said he first met Bevin when he campaigned for senate and remembered him coming to Burkesville in a 15 passenger van with his wife and all their children. He said, "He's a good friend who just happens to be governor."

Rev. Richard Guerrant, 92, former CUPC pastor, dies in Danville

Mike Watson sent word that the Rev. Richard Guerrant has died at the age of 92 in his native Danville, KY. He will be fondly remembered here as pastor of the Columbia Union Presbyterian Church until he retired in the early 1990s. This is a picture shared by Peggy Fudge in 2016 after what she called a lovely visit with Richard and Laura Guerrant.

Hurt Street Repairs made early Wednesday, 13 Mar 2019

Hurt Street in Columbia was getting some much needed repair work by the City Street Department this morning. Heavy rains had blocked drainage and caused serious blacktop damage at the top of the hill behind IGA. The ride should be a lot smoother now.
