Continuing PRIDE Cleanup: have you cleaned your roadside?

Sherry Parnell receives her PRIDE Cleanup day award from Adair County Judge Executive Gale Cowan as Fiscal Court Clerk Bridget Compton looks on. All three helped organize and worked Saturday to help kickoff the month of cleanup activities in the county. Judge Cowan asks that the spirit of cleaning our county continue. She said, "If every one of us will just clean our own road frontage, that will be a great start."

Waiting patiently for gardening to begin

This is one of the many artful creations on the grounds of master gardener Linda Stotts who resides in the Independence Ridge area of Adair County. The picture was taken just as spring was coming to life and you can almost imagine the fellow tapping his foot impatiently, ready for planting and tending to get started.

Adair County Judge Executive Gale Cowan signed a proclamation which put our local 911 Center in the spotlight. April 14-20 is designated as National Public Safety Telecommunications Week.

An after-dark stroll along the the famous Vegas Strip. Wikipedia has this to say about the Las Vegas Strip: "Many of the largest hotel, casino, and resort properties in the world are located on the Strip. The boulevard's cityscape is highlighted by its use of contemporary architecture, lights, and a wide variety of attractions. Its hotels, casinos, restaurants, residential high-rises, entertainment offerings, and skyline have established the Strip as one of the most popular and iconic tourist destinations in the world."

Little League Teams ready to begin 2019 season

Opening day at the Joe Johnson Little League Park in Columbia was Tuesday, April 8, 2019 and these teams are ready to go! The City of Columbia and numerous volunteers have been working hard to make pre-season improvements at the park. The ceremonial first pitch was made by Mayor Pam Hoots on Field One.
