Wildlife biologists with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources need the public's help in locating barn owl nesting sites to gain a deeper understanding of why the species is increasingly rare in the state. Anyone with information about the location of a barn owl nest or a dead barn owl should contact Wildlife Biologist Kate Slankard at 1-800-858-1549. Rural Country Scenery Along Highway 52 2019-04-23 - Danville, KY - Photo by Robert Ellis. I spotted this windmill of sorts, last year during some of my travels. I did stop that initial first time to try to get a pic, but wound up not taking any images. This year I noticed the barn, due to weathering and the passage of time had collapsed even more and looked more appealing than last year. I took some liberties with the photo in the post processing, and the large bird (species unknown) provided a nice finishing touch. This scene, while it lasts, can be viewed along the road that travels from Danville to Lancaster, Highway 52, (on the right) just a few miles out from Danville.
