ACHS Spring Concert: Andy Davis will be one of the singers

You can hear Andy Davis sing in the Spring Concert is at Columbia United Methodist Church, 7pmCT on May 16, 2019. Andrew William "Andy" Davis is in 12th grade at ACHS and is a member of the choir. He is the son of Randy and Rhonda Davis of Columbia and has been singing since he was three years old. He took his first music class in Kindergarten. Andy sings tenor and his nickname is King Monkey. He and the other choir members and the director Ginna Franklin invite everyone to attend the concert.

Rev. Paul Patton honored for 60 years of ministry

Egypt Christian Church held a surprise celebration to honor their pastor Paul Patton on Sunday, April 28th. Pictured is Bro. Paul Patton, accepting the award for his 60 years of ministry. Presenting the award was Jacob Doss.

Business News: Ellen and Steve at Morgan Smith tour

Steve Hancock shared his creative space at Morgan Smith Industries with longtime friend Ellen Zornes on the tour of the plant last week. Steve has been in the furniture making craft for most of his life. His father Ben Hancock first showed him how to create fine projects from wood when he was a boy. He continues the family tradition.

Cumberland River at flood stage at start of April 2019

The Cumberland River was at flood stage at the start of this month of April, 2019. The side-by-side pictures were made from the hill above Rockhouse Bottom which was flooded by the river. In just a month, leaves have grown so much that these views wouldn not have been nearly as wide. The cliffs, in the photo at right, are just past the Rockhouse.

Angie Cowan, Assistant Project Manager, far right, shares details of the various jobs Morgan Smith Industries has completed in the past few years. The architectural millwork and custom fabrication manufacturer, bought the plant in 2015 and over 40 jobs are provided there.
