Each year I cheer when I see these trees bloom and grow, however, not one time in a decade have fruits followed. Either there are animals harvesting early, or the trees may need Pawpaw fertilizer. Mama Cat was hunting discretely as she hid among the volunteer Poke plants growing rapidly out back. For those who like greens, the young plant Poke leaves make a good spring choice. No matter whether it's needed or not, I still boil mine and pour off the water, add new water and reboil - twice. The roots, stems and berries of the plant are said to be poisonous. You can hear Billy Lee Salmon sing in the Spring Concert is at Columbia United Methodist Church, 7pmCT on May 16, 2019. He is in 10th grade at ACHS. A tenor in the choir, he's the son of Bobby Salmon and Jennifer Cooper and has been singing since he was six years old. He writes, "What I love most about singing is how it makes me feel like I have a purpose in the world. I first found out I could sing in church. I would like to thank my dad for always being my number one fan and also Mrs. Franklin for always showing and reminding me what I am capable of. I hope to see everyone at our concert on May 16th!"
