Adair County Prayer on the Square

May 2, 2019 is set aside as National Day of Prayer. A wonderful crowd was gathered at noon in front of the Adair County Annex Building to pray specifically for topics that face our area and nation - government, military, media, education, church, business, and family. The theme this year, “Love One Another”, was taken from the scripture John 13:34. Pictured leading one of the prayers is Pastor Billy Hewitt from Gradyville Baptist Church. - Tiffany Kessler

Chandler and Carli with families before ACHS Prom 2019

Chandler Wilson and Carli Carter stopped for their parents and grandparents to make pictures before Saturday evening's 2019 Adair County High School Prom. Carli is the daughter of Daryl and Lou Ann Carter. She's the granddaughter of Stanley and Beulah Carter and Gordon and Carline Smith. Chandler's parents are Alan Wilson and Benisha Parnell. His grandparents are Mike and Sherry Parnell and Leon and Elaine Wilson.

Annual Spring LWC Bands Concert is Friday, 3 May 2019

The Lindsey Wilson College Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Jazz Band will present its annual spring concert this Friday, May 3, at 7pmCT at Biggers Sports Arena on the main campus of Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

New CPD Officer Evan Burton with family and friends

One of two new Columbia Police Officers, Evan Burton, is pictured with family members, sisters Kasey Bardin and Tara Coomer, his parents Randall and Toy Burton, and soon-to-be in-laws Joe and Sandy Rogers. They were there to stand with Evan during the ceremonial swearing-in by Mayor Pam Hoots and CPD Chief Jason Cross held Wednesday morning at City Hall.

Brianna Allen will sing in ACHS Spring Concert at Columbia UMC

You can hear Brianna Allen sing in the Spring Concert is at Columbia United Methodist Church, 7pmCT on May 16, 2019.

Brianna is a 10th Grader who sings Soprano 2. She is the daughter of Brian and Ashley Allen of Adair County.

She writes, "I have been singing since the 6th grade. What I love most about Choir is being around such an amazing group of people and having the opportunity to learn new things everyday."

She hopes to see everyone at the Concert!
